REACH in Rwanda

REACH in Rwanda is governed by the Heads of the four UN agencies (WFP, FAO UNICEF and WHO). It is hosted by UNICEF, while WFP serves as its administrative agent.

  • Prime Minister’s Office: Hosts the highest level convening body (Inter-Ministerial Coordination Committee), meeting every quarter under the leadership of the Minister of Health
  • Ministry of Health (MoH): 
    • Mandated by the Prime Minister to coordinate the implementation of the National Multisectoral Strategy for the Elimination of Malnutrition. The MoH is represented in all coordination/technical bodies responsible for the implementation of the Strategy. 
    • Chairs the multi-stakeholders Nutrition Technical Working Committee (NTWG), which coordinates interventions of all partners (UN agencies, NGOs, academia, donors and private sector)
  • Ministry of Agriculture:
    • Member of the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Committee (IMCC)
    • Member of the Agriculture Sector Group
    • Member of the Food Security and Nutrition Working Group
  • Ministry of Education:  Participates in the NTWG meetings
  • Ministry of Local Government: Participates in the NTWG meetings
  • Ministry of Infrastructure: Participates in the NTWG meetings
  • Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion: Participates in the NTWG meetings
  • Ministry of Finance and Commerce: Co-chairs the Development Partner’s Group (DPG) with the UN Resident Coordinator. The DPG is the highest multisectoral nutrition coordination convening body in the country.
