REACH in the UN system

REACH is:

  • a partner of the UN Standing Committee on Nutrition (UNSCN), the United Nations global normative platform for harmonization of food and nutrition policies. The UNSCN promotes cooperation among UN agencies and partner organizations in support of community, national, regional, and international efforts. REACH complements the UNSCN global platform by providing a country level facilitation mechanism coordinating UN and other partners support to national nutrition scale-up plans.
    Together with the UNSCN, REACH forms the UN Network;

  • part of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) movement, a global push for action and investment to improve maternal and child nutrition, with which it collaborates at country level; Matrix of SUN country requests vs REACH support

  • an example of the UN ‘Delivering as One'. UN One aims to increase the impact of UN efforts at country level by increasing country ownership of UN-led activities, reducing transaction costs, and enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
