Currently, REACH operates in 10 countries through country offices, with support b
y the Secretariat based in Italy. REACH work has also been implemented in 12 other countries in the past, namely: Bangladesh; Burundi; Ethiopia; Ghana; Guinea; Lao PDR; Mauritania; Mozambique; Nepal; Niger; Rwanda; and Uganda.
Countries get involved in REACH upon their request. Factors considered to initiate engagement include:
• country needs as defined by high levels of undernutrition;
• Government commitment and preparedness for scaling-up nutrition;
• stakeholder interest and complementarity; and
• availability of funding.
